Danny Chambers wins in Winchester
Danny Chambers is Winchester's newest Member of Parliament following the General Election.
Liberal Democrat Danny Chambers gained the seat from the Conservatives with a majority of 13,821 votes after a General Election campaign where he prioritised fighting for our NHS, tackling the cost of living crisis and standing up for our environment.
Danny recived 29,939 votes - the most of any newly elected MP.
After the result, Danny said:
"We know that people are desperate for some sort of change in approach to politics and we've been standing here with our vision that everyone in Winchester should get the physical and mental healthcare they require. And no one should left in a hospital bed for the lack of a social care package.
"There are many families working hard, working long hours, and no one working a full-time job should be going to food banks to feed their family, and no child should be going to school hungry.
"This is a fresh start, and I want to thank the people of Winchester and Meon Valley for putting their faith in me. I won't let you down."
